Kenny Slaught – Building Traditions In California

The most well known buildings in Santa Barbara include the old Hotel Virginia, historic El Pueblo Viejo district and the Old Mission’s two pink towers. The County Courthouse’s colorful tiles feature amazing artwork, and the clock tower and observation deck offer a full view of the region. The 1873 Lobero theatre is the city’s best performing arts facility, and was rebuilt in the 1920s by George Washington Smith. The founder’s careful planning of the city allowed for many such structures to be observed in the old districts.
